Masterclass an ongoing small group class designed for those parents who want regular in-depth support for their parenting journey.  This class is recommended for parents who:

  1. Found the skills in How to Talk So Kids Will Listen super helpful and want to keep the learning front and center

  2. Struggle to stay patient in order to access more helpful words or actions in the moment

  3. Either lose your temper or cave when you’d rather not. 'Kind and firm' is a nice theory, but feels out of reach or unrealistic, especially when things get heated

  4. Want to raise the bar in your parenting practice

  5. Seek strategies to foster connection with your child(ren)

  6. Enjoy the support of other Moms and Dads who are also struggling to love their children well, listen without judgment, share ideas and encourage you toward your goals

Good Vibes...

“The workshop has at heart a simple idea: acknowledging your child's feelings.  But what a hard task!  It's like learning a foreign language that opens a new world for your family.”  –Lisa and Ken, parents of 5 yr-old and teen-ager

“Reading the text isn't enough to fully profit from these helpful books. Taking the class makes it all really sink in…and being in a group provides support.  I highly recommend the class!” –Deborah, mother of 6 and 9 yr-olds

“This course helped me regain a sense of control--of myself: instead of losing my temper and resorting to punishment, I now have a repertoire of techniques that minimize the battles and reduce the decibel level in our household.  It's still hard to get 3 children to do what I ask when I ask, but our days are calmer, my children are happier--and so is their mother!” –Nan, mother of 3-yr-old twins and 8 yr old

"I took Shelly’s class because a mother who had such a positive experience brought her child for a visit and I began inquiring about the dramatic difference from his previous visits. I was so struck with how good the kid was, I began researching and registered for the first class with Shelly I could get myself into." -Dr. Julie Luttinger, MD, Park Avenue Pediatrics

"The Master Class has helped me to look further into my practice as a parent. After taking How to Talk and Siblings, I was transformed as a mom and looking to further my commitment to sane parenting. The Master Class has been an invaluable support system for me. The camaraderie that exists and shared understanding of the How to Talk skills reinforces what I have learned in the past and continue to work on with my evolving family."   -Tara, mother of 6 and 11 yr olds
